Recently researchers of the CRE in Frailty and Healthy Ageing attended the International Conference on Frailty and Sarcopenia Research (ICFSR) - February 20-22, 2019 Miami Beach, USA. CRE Frailty and Healthy Ageing Research Fellow in Exercise Physiology & Frailty, Dr Agathe Daria Jadczak, gave an oral communication titled A Randomized Controlled Pilot and Feasibility Exercise and Protein Effectiveness Supplementation Study Supporting Autonomy in Community Dwelling Older Frail Adults and A/Prof Solomon Yu also attended the event to learn about the newest research in the field and network with leading researchers.
The event also hosted 5 internationally renowned keynote speakers including our collaborating investigators Prof Matteo Cesari (Granda-Università di Milano, Italy) who gave a wonderful presentation on Intrinsic Capacities. Professor Cesari underlined that intrinsic capacity is a novel concept addressing the inadequacy of current systems, which are traditionally focused on the disease construct. Another of our collaborating investigators, Prof John Morley (Saint Louis University, USA), led a panel discussion on International Clinical Practice Guidelines for Sarcopenia: Screening, Diagnosis and Management.
