Welcome Dr Maria Alejandra Pinero de Plaza
Dr Pinero de Plaza joins the Knowledge Translation team.
Dr Maria Alejandra Pinero de PlazaDr Maria Alejandra Pinero de Plaza has joined Prof Alison Kitson as a Post Doctoral Reseaech Fellow in the Knowledge Translation arm of the Centre of Research Excellence in Frailty & Healthy Ageing. Alejandra obtained her PhD from Deakin University and her research specialty is health promotion (behaviour and health). She has investigated consumers’ semiautomatic decision-making in relation to environmental cues as triggers of unhealthy food selection and consumption. Previously, she completed studies in Mass Communication/Journalism and several postgraduate subjects in Anthropology.
Alejandra has recently been involved in research projects in the areas of Marketing Science and Consumer Behaviour, as well as scientific journalism. In addition to her work with the Centre of Research Excellence in Frailty & Healthy Alejandra collaborates with the Australian Partnership for Preparedness Research on Infectious Diseases Emergencies (APPRISE CRE), the Adelaide BioMed City Partners, Health Consumers Alliance, South Australia Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and other entities in relation to consumer's engagement with health research.
