Human Cognition and Performance

In the Human Cognition and Performance Centre, we focus on understanding how people reason and make decisions for enhanced performance and wellbeing in the workplace and other settings.

Research on Human Cognition & Performance focuses on how people process information, make decisions, and perform at their best. Our research supports diverse roles and settings, such as:

  • Boosting productivity, teamwork, and decision-making in workplaces.
  • Promoting wellbeing and resilience against undue influence in digital spaces including social media.
  • Understanding and assisting processes such as human memory, perception, and attention in eyewitness accounts and other legal or forensic judgments.
  • Developing effective education tools and training environments to enhance performance.

We also develop and assess cutting edge wearable technology and automated decision aids to facilitate human-machine teaming.

Our collaborators include defence, space, healthcare, sports organisations, and industry partners, with whom we translate our scientific discoveries into real-world solutions.
