HDA High School Scholarships 2024 - Open

Goals

To support adolescents enrolled in Year 11 and Year 12 in South Australian schools who are experiencing financial adversity and challenging life circumstances, and who want to obtain a tertiary education in a field relevant to health or education.

To raise the confidence and belief in their own abilities of adolescents enrolled in Year 11 and Year 12 who are experiencing financial adversity and challenging life circumstances.

Eligibility

1. The applicant will be enrolled in Year 11 from 2024 and wants to proceed to tertiary education in a field relevant to health or education.

2. The applicant or their parent/carer is supported by means of a Health Care or Pension Concession Card and the applicant qualifies for School Card concession or equivalent.

Selection Process

1. Applicants will be nominated by their school.

2. Applicants will submit a statement (800 word maximum) describing their study and career goals, and identifying how the scholarship will facilitate their achieving these goals.

3. Schools will submit a one-page statement in support of the applicant. This will include information about the applicant’s attendance in Year 10 and their academic progress to date.

Award

The scholarship will be for $1000 per student provided over a two-year period contingent upon continued partner funding provided to Healthy Development Adelaide. 

Submissions

Schools are to submit their applications to Anne Jurisevic, Healthy Development Adelaide Executive Officer via email: anne.jurisevic@adelaide.edu.au by 5.00pm Thursday 8 February 2024. The submissions will be assessed by the HDA Executive Committee.
