Congratulations to Theresa Hickey - 2020 Executive Dean’s Research Award recipient
Associate Professor Theresa Hickey has been awarded the 2020 Executive Dean’s Research Award in the mid-career researcher (MCR) category. Her excellence was recognised in the areas of publication of outstanding research in high ranking, peer reviewed journals; significant contribution to successful grant applications; development and implementation of a multidisciplinary research project; significant contribution to the public awareness of health and medical science; successful commercialisation of a research idea and scholarly activities that have had, or are likely to have, a major impact on the health outcomes of individuals and/or populations.

Rayzel Fernandes - PhD conferral
Congratulations to Rayzel Fernandes on the conferral of her doctoral degree entitled “The role of microRNA-194 in prostate cancer progression”. Rayzel’s project was supported by an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship/ Australian Postgraduate Award, as well as a Freemason’s Foundation Centre for Men’s Health PhD Scholarship top-up award. Rayzel will be leaving the DRMCRL to take up a post-doctoral position at Imperial College London.
NHMRC 2020 Ideas Grant success for DRMCRL
The DRMCRL is excited to announce we have been awarded an NHMRC Ideas Grant for funding commencing in 2020. Professor Wayne Tilley will be the PI for the project entitled “A combinatorial drug strategy to target lethal forms of breast cancer” which will address a critical unmet need by combining new treatment strategies in the most lethal forms of breast cancer.
Dr Luke Selth inaugural recipient of the Rob Sutherland Award at 7th International PacRim Breast & Prostate Cancer Meeting
Congratulations to Dr Luke Selth as the recipient of the inaugural Rob Sutherland Award at this meeting. Dr Selth presented his research work on “The epigenetic and transcriptional landscape of neuroendocrine prostate cancer”.
