The Adult Dental Programs Survey
The Adult Dental Programs Survey monitors the oral health of cardholders as they attend for public‑funded dental treatment. The survey evaluates the oral health status of patients attending for care, their demographic and utilization characteristics, and profiles of services provided throughout the courses of care.
The Adult Dental Programs Survey (ADPS) samples adult patients attending for public-funded dental care. Data are collected on patient characteristics, visit details, services provided, and oral health status. The ADPS was initially collected during 1992-93 as part of the Research Database on Dental Care for Adults in Australia. As part of the Evaluation Project of the Commonwealth Dental Health Program the ADPS was collected as a cross-sectional survey of service provision in 1994, 1995, and 1996, and as a prospective survey of oral health status over the period 1995-96. Another round of national data collection of oral health status occurred during 2001-02.
Conducted under agreement between the Commonwelath Department of Health and Ageing and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
