Martelotto Lab: Single Cell & Spatial Omics

Martelotto Lab

Our research

The Single Cell and Spatial-Omics Lab at ACE/SAIGENCI is a state-of-the-art incubator for the development and evaluation of new single cell, spatial and genomics tools and methodologies. As an innovation team, we aim to provide a creative hub for generating new technologies, equipment evaluation, protocol development and informatics tool integration. Our lab is dedicated to constantly evolving to keep up with the fast-paced advancements of the genomics field, but our focus remains on developing technologies that have the potential to advance research and its practical application for the wider scientific community.

Our team is highly collaborative and technology-driven, providing comprehensive technical and intellectual support to researchers at all stages of experimentation, including planning, design, execution, and interpretation. We offer a one-stop-shop for collaborators looking to access novel technology, receive technical and developmental support, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

We are particularly interested in the development of single cell and spatial-omics technologies, which enable researchers to analyse individual cells or spatially resolve the gene expression of different cells within a tissue sample. By using these cutting-edge techniques, we aim to unravel the complexity of biological systems and contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies.

As part of our commitment to advancing the field, we actively seek collaborations with researchers from different backgrounds and disciplines, including academia, industry, and government. By working together, we believe we can accelerate the development and application of new technologies that have the potential to transform scientific research and improve human health.
