The Palliative Care Research Collaboration (PCRC) is led by University of Adelaide researcher Associate Professor Jaklin Eliott.

Palliative care is not equally available to all Australians, for reasons including geography, economics, workforce, awareness, and accessibility. There are particular population groups and communities who do not access palliative care services. With an ageing population in Australia these gaps are forecast to increase. This transformative research program will focus on addressing the deficits in accessing end-of-life care for South Australians, whilst continuing to strengthen what is working well.

This inaugural collaborative research program funded by a $2.25 million grant from the Hospital Research Foundation Group - Palliative Care, will progress vital palliative care services for under-served communities across South Australia.

This Statewide research program includes five key research projects, each involving a dedicated research team and strong collaborations between university researchers, post-doctorate fellows, doctoral candidates, research students, healthcare and policy organisations, and advocacy groups. These collaborations will support the translation of the research outcomes into positive and sustainable change.
