Helen presented her winning research on Care.Collaborate.Connect: A disruptive innovation in preventing suicide in children and adolescents.

The prevalence of mental illness, distress and suicide in children and adolescents has not declined despite significant government and non-government investment and activities. Care.Collaborate.Connect provides a new framework to support parents (through Coping Kids) and schools (Coping Schools) help children learn and use healthy coping and prevent mental illness.

Dr Helen Stallman is a Senior Lecturer at the University of South Australia and Hospital Research Foundation Fellow at the Basil Hetzel Institute. Dr Stallman is a Clinical Psychologist and specialist in the development and evaluation of interventions aimed to optimise health and wellbeing. Her focus has included suicide prevention, university health and wellbeing, parenting, and e-psychology. The quality and impact of Dr Stallman’s research has been recognised with 11 awards and honours, including Uniquest Trailblazer and an Education Association of Australia Award.
