Professor Zac Munn Helps Highlight Value of 7000 Steps
The biggest review of daily step count and health research studies ever undertaken highlights the health benefits of walking 7000 steps a day.
Co-authored by Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations and Impact (HESRI) Director, Professor Zachary Munn, the University of Sydney led research recently published in The Lancet Public Health was informed by data from 57 studies tracking more than 160,000 people worldwide.
When compared to walking 2000 steps per day, 7000 steps were found to reduce risk of heart disease, dementia, depression, and cancer.
