Medicine orientation program

  • Clinical Placement Information Session

    This session is for commencing students of the following degrees:

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
    • Bachelor of Nursing
    • Bachelor of Dental Surgery
    • Bachelor of Oral Health
    • Master of Clinical Nursing

    Students undertaking clinical placements as part of their degree must satisfy a number of requirements. The Clinical Placement Information Session covers all you need to know to be prepared for your clinical placement, including advice on immunisations and clearances.

    When: Wednesday 26 February, 9 - 10 am
    Where: Elder Hall, University of Adelaide main campus (see map)
    Attendance: Compulsory

  • Introductory Session: Medicine

    This session is for commencing students of the following degree:

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery

    An introduction session where you will hear from key staff about the program and the Adelaide Medical School. Discover useful tips and resources to support your learning experience.

    When: Wednesday 26 February, 10.30 am - 12.30 pm
    Where: Level 1, lecture theatre 1059, Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building (AHMS), North Terrace (West End, see map)

  • Faculty O'Day Welcome Lunch

    This session is for all commencing students in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

    Join us for lunch, entertainment and an official welcome from the Faculty's Executive Dean, while meeting fellow students, peer mentors and teaching academics across a range of health disciplines.

    When: Wednesday 26 February, 12 - 2 pm
    Where: Urban Park, next to the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building (AHMS), North Terrace (West End, see map)

Do I have to attend orientation sessions?

Orientation is an important time to prepare for university, make connections and meet new people, including your peer mentors. Attendance at some sessions is compulsory (check the session details above), while others are highly recommended. Either way, get involved! This will help you make the best possible start when semester begins.

What else is happening during O'Week?

The University campus comes alive during O'Week, with plenty of programs, entertainment and social activities to take part in. Remember to get your essentials sorted, then enjoy all that the University of Adelaide O'Week has to offer.
