Deployed Health Surveillance Program - Middle East Area of Operations Health Study (DHSP - MEAO)The Node is currently leading the development of the Middle East Area of Operations Health Study, which is a part of the Deployed Health Surveillance Program. This longitudinal study will evaluate the relationship between potential health hazard exposures and health outcomes in personnel deployed by the ADF to the MEAO between 2001 and 2007 and beyond. The study is expected to deliver a range of benefits, including better information on exposures, evaluation of preventive practices, improved timeliness in providing benefits to veterans and better quality reporting to community and Government on post-deployment health. This will be the largest and most significant study of its kind ever performed in Australia.
