Honours in the School of Medical Sciences
How does Honours help me?
At the end of the three years of university education you may not have developed the skills essential to enter into the career path of your ambition. An honours programme will allow you to develop/improve many of the essential skills including;
- critical thinking
- critical evaluation/analysis/interpretation
- academic writing and planning
- time management
- ability to work independently
An honours degree in the School of Medical Sciences is designed to ensure that the full potential of a student can be realised. It aims to provide a thorough training in both practical and theoretical aspects of research, providing the student with a sound scientific and research background which will enable them to proceed towards the acquisition of a higher degree, or to move directly into a career, for example, in industry, research, the government service or teaching.
