Histology Services

The School of Medical Sciences offers histology services at very competitive rates for both internal (University) and external clients.

The services include tissue preparation, embedding, sectioning, slide mounting, routine & special staining.

Electron Microscopy preparation services are also available upon request.

We can provide quotes for projects, when grant applications are being prepared.

We offer rapid turnaround times and no job is too big or too small. It is ideally suited for Research staff and postgraduate research students.

Induction to Basic Histology skills

Our services also include induction for individual users into the appropriate technical applications and procedures. Read more about our service. 

Equipment Access

Access to our histological equipment is available to Adelaide University Honours & Postgraduate students and staff at moderate rates. Users must undergo inducting according to our Safe Operating Procedures

Equipment available includes:

• Paraffin wax processor
• Paraffin wax embedder
• Rotary Microtome
• Sledge Microtome
• Cryostat
• H & E staining set up
