Research Approval Notification form to be completed by all University personnel
conducting human research for each research project where ethical approval has

Faculty Statistical
Support
Statistical services are available for staff, including titleholders, who are
submitting their research funding applications through the University and/or are
publishing research papers where the latter include a University 'byline'. Postgraduate
students will be provided with a limited number of hours of consulting services
'free of charge'. Supervisors are encouraged to attend the first meeting between
the Statistician and Postgraduate Student. The services are provided by two groups
with considerable statistical skills on the basis of location of students and
staff at i) North Terrace Campus and the Royal Adelaide Hospital & ii) Women's
and Children's Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The combined groups
will make services available to staff and higher degree students located at the
Modbury and Lyell McEwin Hospitals.
Centre for Learning & Professional
Development (CLPD)
The CLPD provides development programs to enhance student learning, staff teaching
and staff development through research and the provision of educational services,
resources and consultancies.

The Qantas Researcher Travel Support Scheme (QRTSS)
has been established to provide essential career support to emerging researchers
by encouraging their active participation in international conferences and in
visits to overseas research groups and researchers to work and to establish international
research collaborations. The scheme provides support for international air travel
to early career researchers (ECRs) for these purposes . It is envisaged that applications
for travel support will be called twice a year and the amount of money available
will depend on staff use of Qantas as the preferred supplier.
ECRs are defined as university or externally/ internally funded academics, including full-time postdoctoral researchers, within the first five years of the award of their doctorate. Staff who completed their PhD earlier than 2001 may be considered where there has been a break in service (e.g. for maternity leave).
Applications in the QRTSS are to be submitted on the appropriate form to Stella Richards in the Faculty Research Secretariat. (Round 1: 31 March 2006 *CLOSED*; Round 2: 29 September 2006)
The launch of the QRTSS (refer: photo below) was held on 16 December 2005 with six ECRs from the Health Sciences receiving awards in the inaugural round for travel in 2006.
