Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research

The purpose of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (the Code) is to guide institutions and researchers in responsible research practices. In describing good practice, the Code promotes integrity in research for researchers and explains what is expected of researchers by the community.

The University's responsible conduct of research policy formally adopts the principles embodied in the Code and needs to be read in conjunction with it.

The key elements of The Code are: Management of Research Data and Primary Materials; Publication and Dissemination of Knowledge; Supervision of Research Trainees Authorship (which should accord with the Vancouver Protocol).

The University's Strategic Plan 2008-2012:
'Building a Great Research University'

The University's mission is to be recognised as a great research university and to use that as the platform for excellence in teaching and learning.
