The Discipline of Psychiatry encourages Honours Projects from Medical Students and Students from other Disciplines such as Pharmacology, Physiology and Psychology.

How does Honours help me?

Medical Practice is research and evidence based. To enhance the necessary skills for a successful research career and clinical practice, an honours programme will allow you to develop and improve many of the essential skills including:

  • critical thinking
  • critical evaluation/analysis/interpretation
  • academic writing and planning
  • time management
  • ability to work independently

Specific Research Projects are related to the Research Centres and  Research Groups of the Discipline.

Should you be interested in enrolling or working towards enrolment into a Psychiatry Research Project as part of the Honours Degree of the School of Medicine, please contact the Head of Discipline, Prof. Bernhard Baune.
