Self Care Study
A Sharing Health Care Initiative –Self Care Study
People with chronic disease and the influence of trial and error as a self-care strategy: A novel approach
The study is part of the Department of Health and Ageing, Sharing Health Care Initiative Projects.
The aim of the project is to conduct a systematic mixed method study into trial and error as a personal self-care strategy that can inform health professionals and policy makers about how best to support targeted groups of people with chronic conditions to effectively manage their health status. The study will refine the understanding of trial and error as a personal self-care strategy, and the potential to influence social, health and functional outcomes of people with chronic condition(s), including their health carer usage and in turn heath care costs.
The study will work with the North West Adelaide Health Study data and participants to gain an understanding of what trial and error approaches are used and with what effect.
