• Research: Dr Tonkin's research and clinical interests include areas related to the autonomic control of the cardiovascular (including blood pressure) and thermoregulatory systems in humans.  She also has an on-going interest in orthostatic hypotension in the elderly, clinical trials of antihypertensive drugs and issues related to the quality use of prescription medications.
  Her other interests include medical education and curriculum development, and drug regulation at a national level.
