Discipline of Pathology

The University of Adelaide Australia

Prospective Postgraduates

Postgraduate students in the Discipline come from very diverse backgrounds, including pathology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, psychology, medicine and nursing. Our research areas are just as diverse, and may be laboratory based or clinical, and sometimes involve a combination of these.

Available Projects

A number of basic and clinical research projects are offered within the Discipline research clusters and are available to prospective research students.

Students should initially communicate with the cluster contact or potential supervisor to discuss projects of interest. Other projects in non-cluster areas are also available. These will generally involve working with one of the clinical or affiliate staff and prospective students should make contact with the Postgraduate Co-ordinator (Dr David Haynes) to discuss possibilities. Contact with the Postgraduate Co-ordinator or potential supervisor is required before a formal application can be made with the University.

International Students

More than 2,500 international students come from many different nations and cultures to the University of Adelaide which has a proud record of helping these students make a smooth and successful transition to life in Adelaide. Our city is safe, attractive and easy to get around. It is also one of Australia's least expensive cities. Information about programs of study, costs and application forms are available from the Graduate Centre International Students website.
