Angela was awarded her MBBS from the University of Adelaide in 1988, and undertook her internship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital before completing a PhD titled "Studies on the epidemiology and pathogenicity of Listeria monocytogenes" at the University of Cambridge in 1993. She then joined the Department of Pathology at the University of Adelaide as a lecturer, while simultaneously training in Pathology at the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science and gaining her fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1998. She is currently a senior lecturer and Head of the Discipline of Pathology. Her current research interests are in cardiovascular pathology and in developing materials to aid student learning in pathology.
