Oculoplastic Unit

This field of surgery involves the excision of lid tumours and the subsequent reconstruction of the eyelid. It also deals with the surgical correction of lid mal-position such as drooping upper lids (ptosis) and eyelids that have either turned out (ectropion) or turned in (entropion), as well as the removal of excess eyelid skin (blepharoplasty).

The sub-specialty also includes the surgical management of blockages of the tear drainage system, orbital surgery for thyroid eye disease and tumours of the eye socket.
