Dr Rick Wiechula

Rick Wiechula is the Coordinator of Higher Degrees by Research and the Master of Nursing Science. His teaching and research interests include issues concerning evidence-based healthcare with a clinical focus to wound management. Clinical experience has been largely in orthopaedic and plastic surgical nursing. His Doctor of Nursing portfolio was based on the theme of using multiple forms of evidence to inform the management of split thickness skin graft donor sites.
Rick is experienced in the conduct of systematic reviews and is Scientific Editor of the Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence Library Program. Additionally he is a peer reviewer for a number of nursing and wound management journals and has published mainly in the area of evidence-based practice.

Rick is committed to higher education for nurses that is clinically focussed and aims to prepare clinicians that use an evidence based approach to improve health outcomes.
