    Dr Lisa Jamieson presents Dentistry across the ages; past experiences, future innovations

    Since the beginning of humankind there is evidence of dental disease and its treatment. In 500BC, Aristotle wrote about treating decayed teeth and using wires to stabilise fractured jaws. Through the Middle Ages, dental care was provided by barbers who established their own Guild. It has only been in the last 150 years that the regulation of dental practise has been established, through university dental school institutions and national regulatory bodies.

    The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences invites our Higher Degree by Research students to submit an abstract for the 11th Annual Florey International Postgraduate Research Conference. This conference is a major highlight of the faculty’s calendar. It is well attended by researchers and academics from across the University, as well as sponsors, industry partners and other major stakeholders. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 20 September at the National Wine Centre of Australia.

  • State government funding scheme for commercialisation

    Attend TechSA's information to find out more. TechInSA is the South Australian Government’s innovation agency, tasked with helping to grow the high-tech sector in South Australia. Offering start-ups and early stage companies customised programs including grants, business and marketing assistance and lab and office space, TechInSA also assists companies to access global networks. The South Australian Early Commercialisation Fund (SAECF) is a new South Australian Government grant program established to assist South Australia’s entrepreneurs and innovative organisations looking to commercialise novel products and services. The SAECF will provide eligible companies and organisations with grants of up to a maximum of $500,000 + GST with matched funding required in most cases. Registration not required. .

  • Parent's day

  • GCC Nursing Conference Doha, Qatar 26-27 Feb 2017

    Prof Alison Kitson was invited to attend this conference as a keynote speaker “outlining how innovation in using the existing evidence can be used to transform the way nurses deliver care”. It was a very successful conference with approximately 350 Nurses attending from Qatar and other neighbouring gulf countries. See the GCC Nursing Conference website for more details.
