Community outreach program

The Adelaide Dental School’s Community Outreach Dental Program provides dental and other health services for people who have been marginalised through homelessness, or have difficulty accessing conventional care.

Run with generous assistance from dedicated volunteer private dentists and allied health professionals, the program will provide you, as a student of the school, with an opportunity to apply and hone your oral health skills while providing a fulfilling community service.

Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences (AHMS) building

Adelaide Dental School is located within the $246 million Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences (AHMS) building. Conveniently situated in the heart of Adelaide's BioMed City precinct adjacent the Royal Adelaide Hospital and South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), the AHMS brings together more than 1700 students and 600 health researchers in a vibrant and innovative environment of learning and discovery. The building also houses the Adelaide Dental Hospital.

Adelaide Dental Simulation Clinic

These state-of-the-art facilities enable students to practice real-world patient/client care procedures in a technologically advanced environment. Students are able to acquire and develop clinical skills in a highly advanced environment that includes 90 individual simulators equipped with a manikin, dental equipment, a PC and monitor. The facilities also include two dental surgeries, a plaster laboratory, radiology and sterilisation areas, virtual reality dental simulators and CAD-CAM scanning technology.
