ScholarshipsHerbert Gill-Williams Scholarship (Major Scholarship, Honours Scholarship, Selectives Support)The original bequest states that funds from the scholarship should be used:

G O Lawrence Scholarships (Major Scholarship, Honours Scholarship, Travel Grant)The original bequest states that funds from the scholarship should be used: ‘For the purpose of establishing a postgraduate scholarship or fellowship in conservative dentistry to be known as “The G O Lawrence Scholarship or Fellowship” (as they case may be) and to be awarded from time to time on such terms and son such conditions as the council of the said University shall determine.’ The field of conservative dentistry as defined by including, operative dentistry, crown and bridgework, endontics, related dental materials, implantology and those parts of paedontics which involve the above treatments. Oliver Rutherford Turner Scholarships (Major Scholarship, Honours Scholarship)The original bequest states that funds from the scholarship should be used: ‘to assist two or more dental students to continue their studies as the Chancellor of the University may decide and that the said funds be known as the “Oliver Rutherford Turner Award” ‘. These funds are to support Honours and Postgraduate Research Scholarships. The J L Eustace Memorial Scholarship (Major Scholarship, Honour’s and final year BDS placements)The original bequest states that the funds are given ‘for the purposes of the Dental School’. This is the entire limit on the use of the funding. The Colgate/Betty Fanning Scholarship (Major Scholarship)Contact: Catherine Offler (CACDRC). Winifred E Preedy Postgraduate Bursary (Prize/Award)Call for applications for this Scholarship will be sent out late in the year. This is open to Undergraduate female students and is externally funded. A M Horsnell Student Travel Scholarship (Travel Grant – for Selective use)This scholarship was established for the purpose of assisting a 3rd or 4th year dental student to visit an approved overseas or interstate dental school. Selection is to be based on academic merit, contributions made to the university, personality and the likely benefit to the Dental School and scholar from the trip. R G Willoughby Bursary (Prize/Award)The purpose of the scholarship is to ‘aid students in financial need to continue their studies in Dentistry’ CriteriaStudents in financial need be determined by the following factors:

Applications open on the 1st of January each year and close on the 31st of March of said year. Summer Vacation ScholarshipsSeveral scholarships are available to continuing undergraduate students enrolled in either the Bachelor of Dental Surgery or the Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Adelaide who wish to undertake a six week research project over the 2008-2009 summer vacation. EligibiltyThese scholarships are available to continuing undergraduate students, primarily those in the later years of either the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or the Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) (depending on the scholarship applied for) who wish to undertake a six-week project with the School of Dentistry over the 2008-2009 summer vacation. Generally, these scholarships will be awarded to students who have completed at least three years of their degree program, however, in some instances (particularly in relation to BOH applications) a student may be accepted after completion of 2 years of study. Academic merit and the student’s suitability to undertake the proposed research will be taken into consideration when assessing students for eligibility. Application Procedure
