Students

Students in the School of Dentistry at the University of Adelaide come from all of the states of Australia and also from many overseas countries, including Malaysia, China, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea and Thailand.  There is a good mix of students who have come directly from high school, as well as those who have previously studied in other courses at university level.  There are approximately equal numbers of males and females.  The Adelaide University Dental Students Society is very active in organising social functions for the student body and also in supporting students throughout their programs.  The strong over-riding philosophy within the school is one of "a collaborative community of scholars" in which students and staff are considered to be colleagues within the dental profession.  All new students are registered with the Dental Board of South Australia and this serves to reinforce the colleagial and professional atmosphere that is evident throughout the School.
