Fundrasing

SAFDER is about to embark on establishing a ‘future fund’ to support the School as it seeks larger, long-term projects and to continue to support its students by way of special projects. It is looking to the profession and industry to help it achieve its goals in “the pursuit and maintaining of excellence in dental education and research” with the ultimate goal of endowing the School of Dentistry.

Previous Projects

SAFDER’s first two projects were to establish a Chair in Orthodontics and to refurbish one of the first floor clinics in the Adelaide Dental Hospital, Clinic 1.4, subsequently named the Goodhart Clinic in memory of the late Dr John Goodhart. In excess of $260,000 was raised in donations and equipment for Clinic 1.4 and $326,000 was provided towards the Chair in Orthodontics.

In 1994 an appeal was launched to establish a Clinical Dental Research Centre within the School of Dentistry. With financial support from this appeal and sponsorship from Colgate Palmolive (Australia) and the Colgate Company (USA), the Colgate Australian Clinical Dental Research Centre (CACDRC) was established and officially opened in 1998. Colgate Palmolive continues to provide financial support for the Centre.
