Note to Foreign Applicants
It is difficult for non-Australian residents and non-New Zealand citizens to gain access to the program due to visa and industrial requirements. A number of trainees, particularly from Oceania and South East Asia have completed training supported by the World Health Organisation or Aus Aid. This usually requires their host Government sponsorship. The degree course alone D.Clin.Dent is offered for some international students to prepare them for specialist practice in their own country. This is a 3 year program covering clinical, course work and research. It does not include the medical component or provide eligibility to sit the FRACDS (OMS). Hence this training would not lead to specialist registration and access to HIC Medicare provider status in Australia.
